One World, Many Faces displays Mike and Sherry Knowlton's photography in a collection of figures and intimate portraits taken during travels to all five continents. Meeting people from all walks of life who live in different cultures and conditions has made travel more enlightening to the Knowltons. CALC hosts a joint art exhibit for artists Philip Lindsey and Emily Hampson. Lindsey creates figurative paintings featuring personal narratives. Hampson creates unique ceramic pieces featuring understated patterns. Reception on August 10 at 6:30 pm. Exhibit and reception located in the G. B. Stuart Gallery at Carlisle Arts Learning Center. In the Upper Gallery, find the photography of Mike and Sherry Knowlton in the One World, Many Faces exhibit.

Mixed Media “Play Day” Workshop

A fun day of making art and friends! Bring and swap materials with other artists, create hand-painted papers and monoprints, and swap artist trading cards. Create make-and-take projects with collage, transfers, and more. Feel free to drop in as your schedule permits. Visit the CALC website for more information. Class fee includes class, materials, and light snacks. Bring lunch if staying all day.

Creative Night Out Paint Party: Lake Reflections

CALC's paint nights welcome participants of all experience levels. At this paint night, participants will create an original design of fall trees reflected in a quiet lake on a 16 x 20 canvas. The cost includes all materials, instruction, and refreshments in an enjoyable, supportive atmosphere. For ages 16 to adult. Starts at 6:30 pm. Located at Carlisle Arts Learning Center.

American Craft Week is a national celebration of all things artisan-created! Work along with other CALC artists! The evening begins with a 15-30-minute demonstration of various techniques followed by a 2-hour independent work session to work on your own project. Please, bring your own materials. For this session, instructor and artist Carol Reed will demonstrate the difference between oil and acrylic paints and how these mediums can be used.

Art for the Holidays is the annual fine arts and crafts boutique of CALC members and a unique display of holiday cheer. The G. B. Stuart Gallery at CALC will be transformed into an artists' marketplace featuring local fine arts and crafts. Shoppers will find a variety of jewelry, functional ceramics, photography, paintings, cards, tags, ornaments and small scale works perfect for hostess or teacher gifts.
