Newsies the Musical
EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! In March 2020, just one week before their opening night, the cast of Newsies had to hit the pause button on their performances. Known for converting popular technologies such as lawnmowers, cars, floor polishers, and amusement park rides into painting machines, selected works from the past 10 years of Fiore’s practice will be on view in HUB Gallery. Fiore worked with students in the School of Visual Arts to develop the pyrographic tools which she will use in a performance on the HUB Lawn coming this Fall. This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Are you super into reading? Want to talk to others about what you're reading? Come to our book club this fall! In September, we'll talk about "The Crossover" by Kwame Alexander (the novel or graphic novel), which is available to borrow from The Library's collection! For tweens, age 10-12. Join us for an art and history activity to learn about 9/11 and understand your feelings about the event as art.
