An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Thursday, repeating until October 22, 2020
The Mercy Seminar at the Urban Well is for those of any faith background who are seeking to deepen their understanding of God‘s mercy and peace from an interfaith global perspective. A Notre Dame professor and Episcopal priest guide learners through three terms (six-sessions each), and participants may also journey to Jerusalem’s Tantur Ecumenical Institute for an optional learning project in November 2020.
Term 1, February 27 – April 2, 2020: Jesus in the light of ancient Israel and Jewish faith
Term 2, May 14 – June 18, 2020: The cost of anti-Judaism: what Christianity lost
Term 3, September 17 – October 22, 2020: Hope for the future: Jewish-Christian reconciliation
$75/term or $15/session
You do not need to attend all six sessions of a term nor have taken one term to enroll in the next. Visit the website for more information on the course topics.
The Urban Well at Saint James is a downtown Lancaster source for contemplative prayer and practices to refresh and meet the needs of people seeking a more life-sustaining way.
At the Urban Well, diverse people with different faiths gather in a spirit of humility and openness. We learn from experts, experienced practitioners and from one another how to quiet the noise of everyday life and how to find both energy, serenity and rest.
