Speakers to discuss environmentally related Lancaster County projects at Sierra Club meeting

May 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

The Sierra Club – Lancaster Group (SC-LG) invites the public to attend presentations about the Church of the Apostles Science in the Park Program and the Pequea Township Silver Mine Park’s sustainable habitat plan. The church and park are among nine Lancaster County organizations that recently received SC-LG “green project” grants to help support their ventures.

Speakers include: Doris Robb, volunteer coordinator for the Church of the Apostles, who will share information about the church’s Radar Park hands-on environmental awareness and learning activities for inner-city elementary students; and Megan Devenney, lead teacher in the Silver Mine Park toddler room, who will talk about the park’s efforts to create a sustainable habitat for native birds and game, as well as to promote awareness of the importance of natural habitat.

A discussion with refreshments will follow the presentations. For more details, call (717) 475-0586 or email jimsmeenan@gmail.com.
