Risking Light – On Screen/In Person
March 25 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$5 – $7
Through the unforgettable stories of American Mary Johnson, who grieves a murdered son; Debra Hocking, a victim of the government-sanctioned removal of Aboriginal children from their families in Australia; and Kilong Ung, who survived the terror of the Khmer Rouge, RISKING LIGHT challenges us to examine our own beliefs about forgiveness and ask “What would the world look like if we could learn to forgive one another?” A thought-provoking documentary that explores resilience and the painful process of moving from grief to compassion and forgiveness. Run Time: 86 minutes.
The evening begins in Steinman Hall with a pre-showing activity or community panel at 6:15 PM, and a post-show Q+A with the film’s director.
