Poetry of Rumi
Celebrating Love, Light and Life
Presented by: Maxine Salima Adelstein, President of the University of Sufism, Spiritual Director at the Farm of Peace, Warfordsburg, PA
October 8, 2019 at 6pm at the Fulton County Library
Rumi, the 13th century mystic poet was truly one of the most passionate and profound poets in history. Even today, his presence remains strong. He is still one of the best-selling poets in the United States of America. He is described as “a poet of joy and of love.”
Rumi’s quotes are also well known for being powerful, thought-provoking and wise. Come and learn and be inspired by his poetry and motivational quotes to help you realize all the beauty and love and peace and power you have inside.
The wound is the place where the Light enters.
These pains you feel are messengers. Listen to them. -Rumi
Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built up against it. -Rumi
Oh heart, sit with someone
Who knows the heart;
Go under the tree
Which has fresh blossoms.
-Rumi
We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside us. -Rumi
