SUMMARY:Maple Weekend 2021
DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE \n12 January 2021 \nMAPLE WEEKEND FOR THE SUSQUEHANNA AND JUNIATA RIVER VALLEYS \nTours and tasting will be available at three area sugar shacks on 6 and 7 March 2021\, from 10 AM until 5 PM. Visitors will be able to see how sap is collected from the trees and turned into maple syrup\, as well as purchase various maple products directly from the producers.  \nThis second annual maple weekend is hosted by the River Valleys Maple Syrup Producers Association (RVMSPA)\, an organization that falls under the umbrella of the Pennsylvania Maple Syrup Producers Council. Participating sugar shacks are:\nPaddy Mountain Sugar Shack at 1385 Paddy Mountain Road\, Millmont\nMinehart Gap Maple at 30 Old Goss Lane\, Lewistown\nShade Stone Farm at 282 Markley Lane\, Beaver Springs \nVisitors are encouraged to bring their children to this educational and tasty event. They are reminded to dress for the cold and possible snow or mud\, as the activities are primarily outdoors. There are tours available inside each sugar shack to see the syrup being made\, plus an optional trip into the sugar bush (or woods) to see the various sap collection methods. Each producer will have products for sale.
