Psychology of Religion Course

Co-Sponsored with the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center
Designed for mental health professionals who, like John Steinbeck’s “Pigasus,” consider themselves “lumbering souls but trying to fly,” this exploratory seminar includes theoretical and clinical material, along with illustrations from classic and modern literature. Included in the registration fee is an 85 page outline of material. Ten (10) continuing education units available by request for an additional $20.00. Session topics include; Introduction (Comparative Theology), Individual/Subjective Religious Experience (Personal Theology), Communal/Intersubjective Religions Experience (Dogmatic Theology), Healthy vs. Pathological Religious Experience (The Gods Must Be Crazy), and Developmental Religious Experience (Process Theology). Presented by Randall Hoedeman, PhD, LPC, LMFT, NCC. Dr. Hoedeman holds a doctoral degree in the Psychology of Religion. His counseling and psychotherapy practice spans 35 years.
