An event every day that begins at 2:00pm, repeating until April 14, 2019
Roadmap, a choreopoem written and produced by Monica Prince, assistant professor of activist and performance writing at Susquehanna University, will debut at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in Isaacs Auditorium, Seibert Hall.
The event is free and open to the public. Subject matter is intended for mature audiences.
Roadmap chronicles the life of a fictional young black man named Dorian as he navigates his intended cause of death by homicide and traces his family tree. Throughout this choreographed series of performance poems, we follow Dorian and his loved ones as they address issues of toxic masculinity, racial and sexual stereotypes and mental illness, among others.
A choreopoem combines poetry with dance, music, art and other theatrical elements.
