“Art Uplifts” Outdoor Exhibition

An event every day that begins at 8:00am, repeating until October 18, 2020
Perry County Council of the Arts (PCCA) invites the local community to explore an uplifting and inspirational outdoor art exhibition this fall at local community parks. “Art Uplifts” is currently on display at Millerstown Community Park, 110 W. Juniata Parkway, through October 18. It will then be displayed at Little Buffalo State Park, 1579 State Park Rd., Newport, from October 19 to November 15.
PCCA created this exhibition to safely engage and lift up the community during 2020’s challenges, and while the local non-profit arts council limits on-site exhibition offerings. Uplifting artwork centered on the themes of inspiration, encouragement, hope, perseverance, etc., are displayed on outdoor yard signs along the Millerstown Park river walking trail.
Visitors are invited to step away from the stress and worry about current life, explore inspirational art, and leave with a sense of encouragement and joy to carry with them throughout the rest of their day. Walkers and runners are also encouraged to explore the exhibition during their regular fitness routines. Visitors are encouraged to share their outdoor gallery visits on social media and to tag PCCA on Instagram and Facebook.
“Art Uplifts” is also featured online through January 11, 2021, where most of the original artwork is available for purchase. Featured artists include Lynn Fry, Biruta Hansen, Cynthia Holleran, Evgeny Krayushkin, Thom Kulp, Chris Lyter (pictured artwork), Michelle McBurney, Amanda Rife, Louise Thomas, Don Uvick, James Wheeler, Robin Wheeler, and Angela White.
