Arab Comics: 90 Years of Popular Visual Culture
September 6 - December 8Free
This traveling exhibition of 33 reproductions of Arab comics provides a look into Arab popular culture and the history of graphic illustration in the Middle East. “Arab Comics: 90 Years of Popular Visual Culture”, brought to the Phillips Museum of Art in partnership with F&M’s Islamic and Middle East Studies Program, features three distinct types of comic book art made by Arab artists: originals, adaptations, and contemporary works. This exhibit and its related programming are part of the Arab Arts Festival taking place on campus over the course of the fall semester.
